Geertrui Mieke De Ketelaere is an Adjunct Professor at Vlerick Business School. She holds a master’s degree in civil and industrial engineering and specialised in robotics and artificial intelligence during her studies.

Over the past 35 years, she has worked with several multinational companies, including IBM, Microsoft, SAP and SAS, covering all aspects of data and analytics. With her deep understanding of the hindsight, insight and foresight of AI technologies, she is frequently called upon as an expert and coach.

In her public talks and books, Mieke focuses on both the value of artificial intelligence and its ethical risks. In 2024, she was named “IT Personality of the Year”, and in 2025 she was a finalist in the “ELLE Women of the Year” competition. Today, she continues to share her vision on the future of AI as a speaker on international radio, television and at conferences worldwide.
